Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced IT Research Advisor to deliver research-driven insights in support of IM/IT strategy, solution selection, and operational improvement for public sector initiatives. This remote contract role requires strong experience in public sector environments, digital transformation initiatives, and engagement with organizations in Canada’s North and Indigenous communities.
The successful candidate will provide clear, evidence-based, executive-ready analysis to support informed decision-making in complex IM/IT contexts.
Key Responsibilities

Research enterprise technology trends, platforms, and digital transformation approaches relevant to public sector organizations

Deliver research-driven insights to support IM/IT strategy, modernization, and transformation initiatives

Produce executive-ready briefings, reports, and recommendations

Support planning, benchmarking, and IM/IT roadmap development

Contribute to solution selection and options analysis through structured research and comparative evaluation

Collaborate effectively with public sector stakeholders, including Northern and Indigenous organizations, using culturally informed and respectful engagement practices
Required Experience and Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT research, advisory, or consulting roles

Demonstrated experience conducting research for public sector initiatives (strongly desired)

Experience supporting or advising on digital transformation initiatives

Experience working with organizations in Canada’s North

Experience working with Indigenous peoples and communities

Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for senior and executive audiences
Preferred Certifications and Knowledge

ITIL 4 certification (Information Technology Infrastructure Library)

Cloud fundamentals (e.g., understanding of cloud service models and enterprise cloud platforms)
