About the Role
We’re building a standby roster of experienced IT Systems and Network Administrators to support critical infrastructure across Nunavut. Projects may include network upgrades, server administration, cloud migrations, cybersecurity improvements, and day-to-day enterprise support. Some assignments are fully on-site in northern communities; others offer remote or hybrid flexibility depending on system access and project scope.
What You’ll Do
- Administer and maintain enterprise networks; LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless environments
- Manage Windows and/or Linux servers; Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP
- Monitor system performance; troubleshoot outages and connectivity issues
- Support firewall configuration, endpoint protection, and cybersecurity best practices
- Assist with cloud platforms; Microsoft Azure, AWS, or hybrid environments
- Document network diagrams and system configurations; keep infrastructure organized and audit-ready
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Systems, or related field
- 3 to 5+ years experience in systems and network administration
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network layers
- Experience with enterprise security practices and backup solutions
- Certifications are an asset; CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft, or similar
- Comfort working independently; particularly in remote northern environments
