Looking for a career where your commute may involve an Arctic runway and your toolbox works harder than your gym membership? We are hiring an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to support large-scale civil infrastructure and construction projects in Nunavut.
This is an opportunity to work on some of Canada’s most unique and challenging projects while earning competitive pay, working rotational schedules, and having flights, accommodations, and meals fully covered.
What You’ll Be Working On
Projects may include:
- Heavy civil construction
- Water and sewer infrastructure
- Roads and airport projects
- Aggregate production and crushing operations
- Piling and drilling operations
- Industrial and commercial construction
- Remote Arctic infrastructure projects
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy equipment and support fleets
- Perform preventative maintenance and field repairs
- Inspect equipment for faults and operational deficiencies
- Repair or replace defective mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components
- Maintain accurate maintenance and service records
- Support construction crews during active field operations
- Assist with drilling and piling equipment maintenance
- Work safely and independently in remote Arctic environments
Equipment Experience Considered an Asset
- Heavy Equipment
- Crushing & Aggregate Equipment
- Trucks & Support Fleet
- Drilling & Piling Equipment
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of heavy equipment mechanic experience
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical diagnostic skills
- Experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, Epiroc, or similar brands preferred
- Heavy civil construction experience preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Previous remote camp or Arctic experience is a major asset
- Comfortable working away from home for extended rotations

Schedule
- Full-time rotational position
- 10-hour shifts
- Monday to Friday schedule
- Weekend and overtime work as required
- Remote Arctic work environment
