About the Opportunity

Our client is an established Environmental Services and Industrial Cleaning company looking to expand its presence within Ontario’s growing power generation sector.

With a strong background supporting industrial operations, the company is seeking a well-connected Business Development Consultant to help develop opportunities related to plant refurbishment, refit, outage support, maintenance, and industrial cleaning services across Ontario.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who already knows the Ontario power generation landscape and understands how to navigate relationships with plant operators, utilities, maintenance teams, engineering groups, and procurement stakeholders. In other words; someone who already knows who actually answers the phone.

Position Overview

The Business Development Consultant will focus on identifying, developing, and advancing new business opportunities within Ontario’s power generation market.

The primary objective will be promoting industrial cleaning, surface preparation, media blasting, and environmental services tied to plant refurbishment, maintenance, outage, and refit projects.

The successful candidate will bring strong industry relationships, market insight, and the ability to help position the company as a trusted service provider within the energy and utilities sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within Ontario’s power generation industry
  • Leverage existing relationships with utilities, plant operators, engineering firms, contractors, and maintenance teams
  • Promote industrial cleaning, media blasting, and environmental services for refurbishment and maintenance applications
  • Introduce company capabilities to prospective clients and key stakeholders
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities
  • Support meetings, presentations, proposals, and follow-up activities
  • Provide insight into upcoming projects, outage schedules, procurement processes, and market trends
  • Collaborate with leadership to help refine growth strategy within the power generation sector
  • Attend occasional meetings at the Guelph office as required

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in business development, consulting, sales, or relationship management within:
    • Power generation
    • Utilities
    • Industrial services
    • Energy sector operations
    • Environmental or industrial cleaning services
  • Strong existing network within Ontario’s power generation market
  • Experience working with plant operators, project managers, procurement groups, engineering firms, or maintenance teams
  • Understanding of refurbishment, outage, refit, maintenance, or industrial service requirements within power generation environments
  • Familiarity with media blasting, industrial cleaning, or environmental services is considered an asset
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated and comfortable operating within a flexible consulting-style arrangement
  • Ability to identify commercially viable opportunities and help open doors within the industry
