About the Role
We’re building a standby roster of experienced Cybersecurity Specialists to support government and enterprise environments across Nunavut. Projects may include security assessments, incident response, risk management, cloud security reviews, and strengthening overall cyber resilience. Some assignments are fully on-site; others offer remote or hybrid flexibility depending on system access and operational requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct security risk assessments; vulnerability scans; and threat analysis
- Monitor networks and systems for security events; investigate and respond to incidents
- Develop and implement security policies; standards; and controls
- Support firewall, endpoint protection, and SIEM configuration and optimization
- Assist with cloud security reviews; Azure, AWS, or hybrid environments
- Support compliance initiatives; privacy, data protection, and audit readiness
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 5+ years experience in cybersecurity, information security, or network security roles
- Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and security best practices
- Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection, and cloud security
- Public sector or government systems experience preferred
- Certifications are an asset; CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security+, Azure Security
